I am always asked how to get rid of “Server Farm Configuration Not Complete” from the central administration. Basically, this message is depending on the basic services and the role of this server. The following is a common way to remove this message.

  1. On Servers on Server page, start Office Search service.
  2. Create an SSP.
  3. Mark all tasks in Administrator Tasks to be Completed.
  4. If the message is still there, start the following services one by one till the message is got rid of.
    WSS Search, Excel Service, Document Conversions Load Balancer Service, Document Conversions Launcher Service
